This page is designed to provide information on the measures that La Crisalida Retreats is taking regarding the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and to provide an update on the local situation.
We would like to assure you that we are monitoring the situation every day in line with the information received from the relevant local, national and international authorities. The health, wellbeing and safety of our staff, guests and prospective guests is our prime concern.
A state of emergency was declared by the Spanish government on Friday 13th March, which meant the retreat had to close temporarily. Currently the state of emergency will be in place in Spain until 7th June 2020.
The Spanish Government recently announced a phased de-escalation process, and on Monday 11th May the local area (Marina Baixa) entered phase 1. Some small businesses are allowed to re-open with reduced capacity and strict social distancing rules applying at all times. Travel between regions in Spain is not allowed.
We have a skeleton staff working remotely Monday to Friday. We would appreciate it if you could contact us by email in the first instance. We will be answering emails and telephone calls between 10am and 2pm (Central European Time).
We are working with government officials to ensure we comply with all new safety measures and start running our retreat programme as soon as possible. We will have more details in the coming weeks as to when we will be re-opening. This situation due to coronavirus COVID-19 is complex and keeps evolving. We will continue to provide updates here and on our social media channels.
Peace of mind for your booking
If you are considering making a new booking to come stay with us at the retreat, we have introduced some new terms and conditions, to provide you with even greater flexibility and more peace of mind. For bookings made between 16th April and 31st May 2020, we have waived the amendment fee, reduced the period in which you need to make full payment to 7 days and introduced a set amount for your deposit of 75€ per person (usually 10% or 75€). See more on our terms and conditions page, or contact us here at the retreat. As standard, we recommend you take out travel insurance at the time of booking. We also recommend that you check with your insurance company regarding details of cover.
For guests who have already made a booking, we have always offered the flexibility to amend retreat dates, up to 7 days before arrival, with a 50€ amendment fee. If you are due to arrive between 14th March and 31st May 2020, we have implemented some special conditions during the present uncertain time, to increase our flexibility. We have contacted all guests who have booked to come to visit during May and will contact people booked to come in June in the coming weeks, when we hope the situation will be clearer. If you have a reservation for another date and have any questions, please email us in the first instance. We appreciate your patience if our response is slower than usual.
Peace of mind at the retreat
To ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff, additional precautionary and response measures were implemented whilst the retreat was open, to help us continue to provide a safe and clean environment, some of which included:
- Enhanced cleaning, including hand sanitizers and frequent cleaning of high-touch areas
- Clear procedures for staff to follow in case there is a suspected or confirmed case among our guests or colleagues
- Additional procedures at check-in to ensure all our guests understand what the symptoms of covid-19 are and actions to take
These measures are being reviewed as more information becomes available from the government and health authority. More are currently being worked on, including changes to working practices, prior to re-opening.
If you have any questions, we are here to answer them by email (email@example.com) in the first instance.
We hope you keep well and look forward to welcoming our guests back to the retreat as soon as possible.
With love and best wishes Lisa, John and the team.
